Whistle addictions, can you leave the house without one?
I have notived in the last few months that I rarely leave the house without a whistle on my person even if I don't expect any time to play.
I never had a security blanket as a child, but this is pretty close as far as I can tell.
Is this normal?
Will it pass?
Will I be happy if it does?

I have two in the car, so if the need arrises, I have one handy. If I'm away from the car, however, I've never taken one with me. Well...yet. When I go to Milwaukee I'll take a few.

With me it is the fife. What is a vacation without it? I have my "travel" fife that sits in my bag and gets to go where I go. I must admit that most of the time it sits there, but it does get played about three times a week at odd times. I feel bad for the harp players that cannot always have their instrament with them.

- Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

I have my two in the car and I always take at least one on vacation. Oherwise, I never expect to be anyplace where I could play without annoying people.

So, does that mean you try to share the joys of whistling with the unlearned masses regardless of their demands for you to stop, or you are actually quite polite and considerate to the ears of those aroud you?FJohnSharp wrote:I have my two in the car and I always take at least one on vacation. I never take whistles out for day trips.
At home I have whistles lying waiting for use in every room I spend a lot of time in during the day: living room, study and studio of course. I also have several at work.
I also have a flute or two within reach most of the day and a stringed instrument close by.
