Terminator May Be Terminated!

Post by susnfx »

Arnold is in big trouble in his native Austria:

http://www.cnn.com/2005/ALLPOLITICS/01/ ... index.html

In part:

"Peter Pilz, a top official with the environmentalist Green Party, said the Austria-born Schwarzenegger no longer is worthy of citizenship in his homeland because he broke the law by clearing Donald Beardslee's execution on Wednesday.

Capital punishment is illegal here, and Schwarzenegger -- who holds dual U.S.-Austrian nationality -- should be stripped of his Austrian passport for "heavily damaging the reputation of the republic," Pilz said.

He told Austrian media he sent the Interior Ministry a letter formally requesting that the government begin the process of terminating Schwarzenegger's citizenship."

...now I'm confused. Now that we have a pub, can we post separate political posts or do they still have to go in the political thread?? Should I have read the rules?

Well, it's not like he really needs his Austrian citizenship, is it? He's lived here for what...20 some odd years? And he's the duly elected governor of California. If I were him, I'd tell the Austrian Green Party where to stick it.

But then he won't be able to say to his Austrian friends: "I'll be back!"

And yet the Austrians never said a mumblin' word about Kindergarten Cop? :-?

Ironic is not the word...
It does amaze me though how highly Arnie is rated in American society.
Being a simple minded Irish guy,I sometimes wonder how a guy like Arnie can get to a position of ...well maybe Power is the word..and then deal with a huge economic deal like California and then be considered as a contender...when all he knows is fame ,wealth, and marriage...not to mention the right to terminate a life..
I suppose it's a HOLLYWOOD kind of thing.
I'm glad that I don't live there any more..
