OT - A year on C&F
Today (01/03/05) is my first C&F anniversary, and I'd like to thank all the folks that I've learned so much from--and all those who've provided so much companionship and entertainment, as well.
It's interesting that I still feel like a total beginner when it comes to the whistle. I'd never realized that I was such a slow learner.

- Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.
Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps. - Location: Lefse country

A Loud One Year Cheer! WHEEE!
Here's to many more!
(That was an interesting result... hmmm... perhaps I can remedy that... Ah... that's better)
Ignore that woman behind the curtain.

Congratulations Darwin. It seems like you've been around longer. You've certainly provided us with a lot more than a year's worth of stimulation and entertainment.
Funny about whistles isn't it. When I took up whistle I was told: they are like guitars, they're the easiest instruments to play and the hardest to play well. Well, I've played guitar for decades but did I take the warning? Of course not.
I'm not sure that whistles as such are hard to play. I think that perhaps Irish music is hard to play on them.

Waddaya mean? That's my own lovely face and sweet smile.Martin Milner wrote:So what is that avatar, exactly, Darwin old chap? It looks vaguely....disturbing. Like a hobbit wrapped in cobwebs.
The hat, by the way, is a Homberg--transformed into the ideal banjo-player's hat by removing the hatband and ribbon binding, filling with hot water, and punching to achieve the ideal shape.
