Post by talasiga »

Its alread midday Christmas Day here in Eastern Australia.
I was listening to the medieval religious music of Hildegard von Bingen this morning as I ate my Chrissy Breakfast of:

cold mango and cherry and passionfruit salad
with freshly ground flaxseed with a touch of cardamom

The cardamom is the secret of so many things dessert.

My daughter who cooks, upon learning that I had no special Christmas breakfast planned, made chocolate chip scones.

Yep, we've got dough rising in the fridge for sticky buns. It's a yeast dough heavy with butter, and the goo is butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecans. I can't wait, either.

Oatmeal--actual oats, not instant--and tea.

It's my favorite meal. :)

My husband always makes us Christmas breakfast...Gingerbread waffles with real maple syrup (mega-yum!), vegetarian sausage, coffee for us grownups and eggnog (non alcoholic, of course) for our wild child.

Its funny how the Cs have it for Christmas! I mean C for Christmas and C for coffee, cinnamon, cardamom, chocolate chip .....
Everyone had a C in their menu except for poor Peggioh!
Maybe Peggy might put a pinch of clove in her oatmeal?

Peggy checked the freezer twice, but was unable to find the cardamom or the cloves. She did, however, find TWO jars of cinnamon.

Cinnamon it will be.

Frosted flakes.

And I belatedly realised that having had breakfast meant I shouldn't play my new harmonica right away, hehe

Actually I didn't know Christmas breakfast was supposed to be a special one.

Edit - Frosted Flakes is Cereal - I didn't think I had to spell it out. ;)

Well all I had was a small bowl of muesli with soy milk and a cup of tea. But I got up very late and Christmas dinner was only a couple of hours away.

Putting the "cup" in your post is cheating. The C has to be in one of the items that you consumed. Otherwise your breakfast is a failure. See?
