Not an urban myth....
I mentioned this some time back and some thought it a joke. Ha!

My step-daughter told us about these when she was at uni in Bristol about 5 years ago.
I thought it sounded gross. You shouldn't mess with classic chocolate...

And whether the blood be highland, lowland or no.
And whether the skin be black or white as the snow.
Of kith and of kin we are one, be it right, be it wrong.
As long as our hearts beat true to the lilt of a song.

I've seen deep fried snickers, milky ways, and a few others off and on in a few places here in the south the last few years. And of course, deep fried twinkies.
People love deep fried stuff here. A favorite thing some some of the locals back in Tennessee to do was go to Ryans, pick up pretty much anything on the buffett that was deep fried (chicken nuggets, squash, shrimp, fish, mushrooms) and get a massive bowl of nacho cheese to dip it in. My trombone instructor back in college very nearly died after such a feast years ago. It was just another nail in his coffin. They did three way, and he fine now still.
We have people so big here they shake the floor when they walk. I'm not kidding. In the Wal Marts, more people ride the electric shopping carts than have been crippled by obesity than anything else. And Alabama isn't the worse state for obesity. Texas holds that distinction.

My opinion is stupid and wrong.

Yeah, but, I'd rather spend the money at Ryan's (especially on catfish night) than on the ipecac.vomitbunny wrote:I've seen deep fried snickers, milky ways, and a few others off and on in a few places here in the south the last few years. And of course, deep fried twinkies.

had deepfried pizzas almost daily (so good, so cheap...and so unhealthy ) when I was in Glasgow, but never the guts to try a fried Mars.
But, fried pizza, sausage, pie, you name it. They'll fry anything for you.

The deep fried sounds interesting. I know it's not the same thing, but what I really love is putting the Milky Way (Mars Bar) into the microwave for 10 - 15 seconds -- just enough to warm and soften it up, not melt it. The warm chocolate and gooey caramel tastes heavenly together.
