O.T - It's officially winter here...

Post by anniemcu »

There's a chill on the whistle this morning... and a fire in the woodstove!

Where's here. Lovely picture. Raining here like heck and the winds are strong also, not looking forward to walking to work this afternoon and then coming later that evening in the snow which is called for later.

Here on the other side of the glen we had temps in the mid 50's yesterday. Today there are very strong winds and snow predicted for later this evening. November . . . you gotta love it!!!

Here in good old Patriotic New England, the temp is supposed to be in the mid 50's, at least, with VERY heavy rains later in the day and rain throughout a good portion of Turkey Day!

We've had a resurgence of pleasantness: 60's and 70's this week.
Probably won't last long, though...

Having very strong winds here. The rain/snow mix is coming down sideways. And the past couple of days the weather was so mild . . . *sigh*

Someone finally threw the switch marked 'winter'. The temperatures here were in the 60's and are expected to be in the 30's by morning.

Hey, Ohio. What we experienced today is supposed to be heading your way. Hold onto your hats and batten down the hatches!!! (Unless, of course, it quiets down before hitting you.) Plus lots of snow -- the heavy wet stuff that's a real back-breaker for shoveling out.

"Where" is the middle of the midwest - northeastern MO.

Thanks - It was even lovlier tonight, as the snow finally stopped just before sunset, so there was an orange glow seen behind all of the thick wet snow-covered trees... I'll see if I can post one of those.

The pinkness of the sky with the orange sunset behind the trees was breathtaking.

Image
The weight of the wet snow has the pines stressed but beautiful.

Image
The fire in the sky through the snow covered branches... sigh.

I'm not a cold weather fan, mind you, but it is certainly interesting to watch.

Hey, that's my original hometown. Edina, MO that is. The almanacs now say, though, that it's part of the south.

Nice pictures, btw, anniemcu! Looks like what we went through today as well.

Edina's not too far from Hanibal is it? Less than 50 mi. I think. I'm about 15 from Hannibal.

Wow. Yeah. I used to go to Hannibal in the summers a long time ago to the Ice House (summer stock theatre). We go through Hannibal when we go back to Edina to visit family and friends. What town are you in?

"It's a small world after all..."

I appeared in several plays at the Ice House. LOL!... In fact, my DH swears that's where he first saw the woman he was destined to marry... (blush).

You probably go past New London, then. We're out in the boonies west of there.
