Don't get technical with me, Wombat. I remember you from the next universe when your grandfather was still in diapers.
Lorenzo, my grandfather is still in diapers. At his age he needs them more than ever. (A wombat in diapers is quite a sight, I can tell you.)
Seriously though, we all have numerous group identities. How I'd answer the question 'Who are you?', if at all, depends very much on who's asking and why. If someone were able to click with absolute confidence on one of the options, I'd suspect them either of being tricked by the poll format into thinking they had to choose or of being a fanatic.
Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack Make a new plan, Stan You don't need to be coy, Roy Just get yourself free Hop on the bus, Gus You don't need to discuss much Just drop off the key, Lee And get yourself free
Tell us something.: I used to play pipes about 20 years ago and suddenly abducted by aliens. Not sure why... but it's 2022 and I'm mysteriously baack...
Tell us something.: A long time chatty Chiffer but have been absent for almost two decades. Returned in 2022 and still recognize some names! I also play anglo concertina now.
Tell us something.: This is the first sentence. This is the second of the recommended sentences intended to thwart spam its. This is a third, bonus sentence!
At 58, I still don't know who I am or how to define myself. I do know that I am the sum of fifty eight years with the experiences and the things that I have learned along the way, I carry with me. To define myself specifically that I am this or that, or not this or that, denies my spirit of living everyday and experiencing that day for what it is.
When I awake in the morning, that is the day I am given, how it will play out or what I make of it, will determined as the hours pass. Yes, we have our expected routines and the masks that they require but they are only masks that we wear and present to the public, reflecting at the moment who we might be or are, as we want to be seen.
Suffice to say, I am here.
