Religion/Family are my top identifiers. They are inseparable. All the rest is meaningless in the end! :)

Well, Jerry, make up your mind -- are you a boxer or a walrus? I suppose you could be a walrus who boxes. I never thought of them as boxers, although the males' skirmishes during mating season do somewhat resemble sumo.

Same reason I mentioned it -- it stuck in my head when I saw the title of the thread. Great minds think alike.

Tell us something.: Hi, I am a choir singer from Luxembourg trying to get back to Irish flute playing after a few years of absence from ITM.

It is not possible to pin down my identity to just one point. So, from most important to less:

1) I am only a part of an entity (being mother & wife in our family)
2) I am a village doc
3) I am a Luxembourger (which is mainly a cultural thing for me)
4) I am a wannabe musician
5) my moral-cultural-historical background is catholic, but I am not practicing
6) I am a pessimistic idealist

I love that. I may be that too. Or a pessimistic optimist.

Who is or are the who?

I am with suejnnhe. Religion and family are my emphasis in life and the two are inseparable. My ethnic background is Irish, Scottish, German, Dutch, and English, in short true American. (I wish there was a term other than American we could use but United Statesian just doesn't roll off the tongue real well.)

I have often said that I am optimistically pessimistic because my husband tells me that I tend to look at the negative rather than the positive. He of course, is wrong. Even when I do look at things negatively, I do it in the most positive way
