Welcome aboard Sue,

How old would this prodigy be then?

Slan,
D.
And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

If he can manage the size and finger spread then why not. The fingerings are the same. Which low D did you have in mind?

Mmmm.... I got the impression that he was already playing it after a very short study of the beginners book...,

Looks like we will have to await further verification from Mom.

(Shrug) I don't see a problem with it...it's what did...though I did focus on the high D for several years, so the low always lagged way behind in ability.

I would say "Son, doesn't your mom like those high notes, or was it the dog howling that made you go for the hard option?"

identity theft!

Post by suejnnhe »

Okay y'all, I found out yesterday that said 15 yr. old son had stolen my identity and posted as me! Cheeky fellow!

I told him I wouldn't allow him to blow his money on a new whistle until he showed sufficient interest in whistling. I also told him I thought he might find it too difficult to learn on such a large whistle. Hence his posting.

I myself have been playing the whistle for only two months. Love it! I went home visiting this past summer and my older sisters (twins) had just taken it up. Had to get one too! Or mabye three or four...hmmmm......

Well...in that case, I would certainly say the "ippie ippie" thing, because the young hooligan apparently deserves it!

I think it's great you and your son have a common interest. I d say let him get the whistle and if he loses interest you may just get it for Mother's Day! :)

That sounds like an option where everyone comes out a winner.
