I don't think we get it in its actual form...we get it in the form of "Most Painful Eliminations" (with humorous, off-color, American voice-overs)...and in that form, it's hilarious!

Thanks, Red. Before reading your post I was going to cast my vote as "Hunh?" Now that I realize it's something I've seen, I would have to split my vote between funny and just downright dangerous . Although "Hunh?" still resonates in the back of my mind for why someone would actually go through that kind of thing. I guess, "masochistic" comes to mind, also. :boggle:

I've had the dubious honor of seeing this programme in two countries - I think it's all the same except for the voiceover. Makes me wonder what is said in the Japenese-presented version!

Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

It's funny and dangerous. How do they do it? Aren't there any lawyers in Japan? In the U.S. they would be lined up by the ambulances.

Waivers are WONDERFUL tools in the hands of lawyers that protect business.

Waivers don't seem to prevent lawsuits, not here in NY anyway. Fear Factor must have some good lawyers.

Yeah. The contestants get all dolled up in more padding than you'll find in the NFL and make a head-long banzi charge into these obstacle courses (usually over the water) and end up getting the bejeez busted out of them. All-in-all, it makes for some very entertaining television . . . if you like that sort of thing, of course. :)

Will O'Ban

[Note: maybe I'm mistaken and they don't wear padding, though that's hard to believe. It's been so long since I've seen the show.]

Oh woe is me! I don't have cable or satellite television, just plain old what you can grab out of the air but it's freeeeeeeeee!

So on most days, I haven't clue what my coworkers or you guys are talking about most the time. They think that I'm aloof or a snob, I'm just in a fog of not knowing.

So I voted Huhh
