Now he flies.

Yep. I always liked him. My 12 year old rented and watched Superman 2 on Saturday. I enjoyed those flicks way back whenever, but I had to keep reminding the young teens that "it's based on a comic book...it's supposed to be corny."

I never watched Superman. I really was only familiar with him after he suffered the accident and was active campaigning for stem cell research.

Dale, by your topic A Hero, I thought you were going to review the movie Hero.
Though he'll be mostly remembered in Hollywood for his starring role as Superman, I liked Reeve's performance in 'Somewhere In Time'

This again brings up the subject of 'The Superman Curse'

Christopher Reeve, may you rest in peace.

Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

I had not heard or seen anything. Did Chris really pass away?

Tell us something.: Long ago, I was told that I faked iTrad whistle work very well. I took that comment to heart. 20 years of private lessons - and many, many hours of rehearsal later - I certainly hope I have improved...

This sad news also caught me by surprise about twenty minutes ago when I opened the local evening paper and read the article concerning his demise.
Eighteen months ago I was involved in an accident and when I woke up in an ambulance with my neck and head in a huge box like device, the first thought into my mind was that I might end up like Superman. The damage was minor so I guess I was very lucky that night.
Christopher Reeves courage and determination was an inspiration to many people who were not as lucky as me.The fact that he could go on to make a passable version of Hitchcocks "Rear Window" was a testimony to the mans strength.
I don't believe in Heaven and all that stuff but if such a place exists I hope he is there now.He has already been to Hell.

Slan,
D.
And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

I always liked him a lot and held him in very high regard. I truely believed that he would walk again, and I'll bet if he would have been able to hold on longer he would have done it. :(

He was a true SUPER MAN!! RIP Mr. Reeve. :sniffle: We may be sad at the news and miss him, but his suffering is over. He is riding the stallions now!

This is such sad news, what an inspirational guy. My son, daughter, and I were really upset , and my daughter quite tearful. That just goes to show how many peoples lives he touched one way and the other. I hope that his legacy will be the work that he started in his life time, to help others with serious spinal cord injury, and that long may it continue.
It really puts the trivial little things into perspective when you consider all the pain and struggle this guy had in his life. God Bless him.
Shall I compare thee to a summers day?
No, thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Cheers Will, mines a pint !

I heard about this last night as the 11:00 news came on and went into the next room and told my roommate. She said 'how can that be?' --It is very sad.
