Maybe so...
It is rather strange to think that somebody would "drop out" of such a wonderful community as this.
I have seen many, many people over the years take up whistle only to lose interest in it when they discover the incredible amount of work needed to attain a high standard of playing.
Then again, peoples priorities change as life moves on.Internet communities tend to lose members to marriage and kids etc.
I am not suggesting that any of this applies to Dakota Mouse of course and I'm kinda confident that jbarter will shed some light on the matter later on today - it is,after all,02:00 here in England and anybody with any sense is tucked up in a nice warm bed on this cold windy night.

We also lose members to death.
If I were to die, only one person on here would probably know about it, but I'd want her to notify everybody. The many people I care about, at least.
Edited for spelin.

This is getting a bit morbid for a Happy Birthday thread so to change the tone a bit (and go way off topic - again) I would like to point out that the great and wise Walden has had,or very soon will have,a birthday this month.
So HAPPY BIRTHDAY WALDEN .
(and you too Dakota Mouse)
Slan,

[THREAD REVIVAL - MOD]
Whilst sitting around reading the sunday paper I pondered....what would happen if I googled my on line name ......Dakotamouse. It led me to this thread. Thank you for the birthday wishes! Yes, I kinda dropped out of sight, didn't I. I have been very lazy with my whistles. Still have them and enjoy celtic music. But I don't really play anymore. They drove the husband batty. Maybe if I played better ........................
These days the husband and I do a lot of camping in our homemade tear drop camper. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1GbeG4hKrU Our next project will be a slightly larger build based on the gypsy wagon style. I tend to spend a bit more time on this website for teardrop and tiny campers. http://www.tnttt.com/index.php?sid=51 ... index.html This is a site for people who own Buddy scooters, or other scooters, the folks there are friendly to all. I own a 150 Italia Buddy scooter. It goes 65 mph and gets 80 mpg. The husband has a 750 Honda Shadow. We take both the bikes down to the Black Hills in South Dakota and ride the Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road. I also ride my scooter back and forth to work and around town.
Musically I have a new love ....it is called a Strumbly. http://www.harpkit.com/mm5/merchant.mvc ... e=strumbly
I built it myself and it is just a hoot to play. Rather quiet so the husband never even knows when I'm practising.
Well......there ya go! That is what happened to Dakotamouse! This the first online forum I joined and I still have a fond spot in my heart for all you whistlers!

Well, happy birthday from a newbie... I love hearing about all of the oldtimers and how some have changed, changed passions, health issues, and most of all about life... reminds me of a song from Raul Malo http://www.myspace.com/raulmalo/music/s ... s-30922013#!dakotamouse wrote:Well......there ya go! Re: Happy Birthday Dakota Mouse
Thanks for the kind wishes! Also thanks for reminding of the dangers of this site!! Being exposed to great music and temptation! Looks like I'm going to be spending a little moola today on some Raul Malo music!
