Reading some of the above I despair.Glands was right in saying what are your " perceived " thoughts....
I agree with Rick 100%...
As for this amazing discovery by some o ye about the drones locking or drifting together...we would call it .... balancing!! A simple enough word which describes what is happening sufficiently for my mortal ears.
To borrow from another old windbag Winston Churchill.....
Never has so much been said,by so few, about so little...

To get back to hollow stocks. I must point out that I did not request a hollow stock for my new pipes. I think all of David Boisvert's pipes have hollow stocks.
I would like to hear the opinions of some pipe-makers.
Nick Whitmer has already said he thinks they are more musical.

I agree on that it is more work but wouldn't you say it's easier to make a hollow stock?nwhitmer wrote:My two cents:
I make hollow stocks out of wood. It is more work for me to make a hollow than non-hollow wooden mainstock.
Nick Whitmer
With "easier" i mean less subject to faulty hole drilling really..
Also, you mention hollow wooden stocks which are obviously a bit more work than a metal tube.

- Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.

By the way, Mr. Mukade, I had the good fortune of playing the set pictured in your post. Enrapturing. I would have ordered a set just like it, if I didn't have other irons in the fire. As it is, I don't know how I'm going to put my child through college

...er, vocational school
...I mean, cosmetology school.

David said he falls in love with everything he makes. It is good to hear another opinion.
I just hope they survive the trip to Japan.
(BTW My name is Lee. I took on the name Mukade(centipede) because giant centipedes often visited my old apartment. Mr Mukade is quite scary

John,ye will get used to it ,or maybe ye won't.I have no problem with understanding your usage of the English tongue. I advise caution though, and ye would do well to remember that this is an Uilleann Pipe Forum and not a GHB one.I mention this as your contributions thus far appear to come frae a GHB mindset, which, will be of some interest/use up to a point. They are different instruments, and,by definition, will have a limited appeal to users of this forum who are (I think) primarily Uilleann Pipers.John S wrote:Thanks for that William, are you always so constructive?
Sorry if the technical words confused you, maybe next time I'll add a translation in limited vocabulary English.

As I do not have a drop of English blood in my veins, your usage of "limited vocabulary English" in addressing me is quite incorrect.John S wrote: next time I'll add a translation in limited vocabulary English.

I want blood tests. If there is a slightest trace of off-green then we shall need to have stiff words.Uilliam wrote:
