Woodpecker, If you google 'wild mountain thyme notation' you'll get a bunch of links for this. The third one down, that I got anyway, was for a site called scotland.com- this had the lyrics but the link to the notation didn't go through anymore. ---I see that 'sheet music plus' has the notation but most of them seem to be part of compilations so the price...-- try googling it yourself; maybe with some searching you'll find the notation online--?? -mike

Woodpecker,
If you can figure out how to use this website, then this might help. I haven't put any time into it yet, but I understand a lot of people use this tune finder for that purpose. Here's the link:

Good luck!

The range of the D version goes too low for a D whistle, but the G version works nicely:

As I don't know how much you love it it is difficult to compare your love with mine.

Tell us something.: I love Irish music! I am mostly a whistle player but would like to learn more about flutes. I also have a couple older whistles I'd like to sell and maybe pick up a bamboo flute to practice with.

Tell us something.: I am a walrus, I am a tea pot. John Lennon said that but people see him as a guru. Well, tell, you what he also almost became a piper asking Paddy Keenan to teach him. (bleep) got bored & went on the sitar and the rest is history.

This is a song that featured most nights during this years Floating Tionol, as Brian Howard sings this and plays a full set of Uilleann pipes at the same time! A trick learnt of the McPeak's back in the 1970's I believe.

Sheet music can also be had from GIA Publications in Chicago..... look for "Holy is Your Name" by David Haas. David set the Magificat to the tune of Wild Moutain Thyme (in D).

The song in D lies very nicely on an A whistle.
