Oh, and that was a good movie...although it was a chick flick

And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

Those pick-up lines are so funny that I have trouble believing that any guy with a serious objective has ever used one unless, of course, his objective were to incapacitate her with laughter. The list reads like a compilation of pick-up lines contrived by comedians. Regardless, they are hilarious.

I'd like to hear English translations of outrageous pickup lines from other countries.

I actually witnessed this exchange in England a few years ago. A young woman who had it and knew it was strutting down the High Street and a guy was struggling to catch up. As he got close he called out something like, 'Hey babe.' As she turned around he said gushing 'How do you do.' 'I do pretty well' she replied, then looking him up and down she continued slowly 'Sometimes I do better than others.' Then she turned around and continued strutting.

Yep...I'm that elderly Great grins, that film.... to Mr. Lee's credit, it makes males squirm (and, one hopes, perhaps think a bit). Innovative in many ways. Pretty darn sexy, too.Bloomfield wrote:Does anyone else here remember Spike Lee's She's Gotta Have It?
BTW, the sepia is elegant, but a tad...gloomy?
