The people in the region are reknowned for their ability for hand crafting just about anything from their homes, as long as they can get an original to copy from. Unfortunately they tend to put most of these skills into crafting handmade Kalashnikoffs, but these are well known for their quality and usability.

I'd rather be atop the foothills than beneath them.

Except Pakistani gunsmiths are pretty good and the Pakashnikoffs actually shoot pretty straight.djm wrote:The people in the region are reknowned for their ability for hand crafting just about anything from their homes, as long as they can get an original to copy from. I think it's more a question of not having any clue what the thing is supposed to work like when you get it finished. With a gun they have that all figured out. With pipes, well, it's just aping what something looks like, and with direction there are a few Pakistani pipes that manage to come out at least playable. Reproducing reeds seems beyond them however, and that's probably why they tried to go to these odd Highland practice chanter-style plastic reeds, and make an UP chanter that would work with them.djm wrote:Too true! So, do you think they intentionally make their UPs that badly?Royce wrote:Except Pakistani gunsmiths are pretty good and the Pakashnikoffs actually shoot pretty straight.
