No bids yet. Everybody must be waiting till the last minute. If you're tempted to think it's not a great deal, think about buying this. You never know what the future holds for the price of good instruments.

No, luckily I have 2 Loyd Loar mandos already. Years ago, when good deals were still to be had, I bought them from my neighbor who is gone now and he bought them new back in the 1920's. He thought he should get what he paid for them new..so I gave him $60 apeice. :D

For anyone who has been trying to reach Richard Cook regarding this item, here is his email address:

Rcookpiper@aol.com

I tried sending him some emails through the ebay question form and he said he has replied to all of them. I have not received any of the replies, however. Ebay's system is apparently faulty. This is not the first item that I have had this situation occur. I would suggest contacting him at the above address if you have any questions, or are waiting for replies via the Ebay system.

At the end of the day, this is a Mix & Match set, Were's the oringinal Chanter?if the set was complete then the set would be worth even more,
must admit the drones and regs look very nicely made, but Eugene allways made Quality Pipes.
There's those who know,
and there's those who think they know,
and there's those who just have'nt got a fecking Clue.

...I dunno, a Kirk Lynch chanter isn't, by far, something one should turn their nose up at. If anything, I think this set is very generously priced and worth considerably more than the opening bid, with assistance due to the Lynch chanter.

The Lynch chanter is a far better chanter than the original. I'm sure Richard would sell you the original if you want it???? I'm sure he felt this was the best combination and therefore would be of better interest. The chanter is the only non original part and is a four keyed Lynch.. .that's a sweet chanter... ask anyone. The Childress E reg is extra... a very nice bonus if you ask me.

The set plays really really well... regs and all! It should really go to an experienced piper but it is also an easy way in to owning a full set. The regulator key work is beautiful.... just like Johnny Bourke's stuff, very solid yet elegent.
