last night, on tv, I saw the whole thing again, they showed the documentary that these two french brothers made, about the firemen.
It sure stirred me up again, damn thing made me cry again. I hope nothing like that will ever happen again. My thoughts go out to all the families. :(

Sobering, indeed. Will there be the C&F playing of Amazing Grace, again, this year?

I missed this last year. Any particular time to play?

It is 9/11 ... and James Galway is now playing Amazing Grace on my CD player .... *sigh*

Just whichever time(s) the spirit moves you, I'd guess. That's what I do anyway. It's a really nice sentiment even if it doesn't really accomplish that much.

Sinéad O'Connor has a really beautiful version of Amazing Grace, too. I cry listening to it.

despite the horror of that day, I have one little ray of hope in my life to remind me that even in the midst of tragedy, life can and does go on. My daughter, Victoria Marie, was born on September 11, 2001 and is 3 years old today. I hope and pray that someday she understands the signifigance of this day, and knows the price that many paid.

I did my rendtion of Amazing Grace just before posting.

I wrote this in November 2001:

Brave in the face of danger,
Faithful to the end.
Go where no one dares,
To save our next of kin.

Five alarms, ring loud,
Tower two goes down,
Into tower one they go...

There’s no light to see,
There’s no air to breath,
Heroes as the shadow falls.

I'm glad something good happened that day. It keeps things in perspective...the cycle of life, I guess.

I second that.

Played "Amazing Grace" as our last song at the Market today (on the dulcimers we do it in a drop A tuning).

And tell the little one "Happy Birthday". Perhaps she's destined to bring peace to her own corner of the world.
