I answered "1-5" but I thought you meant baskets full of whistles. ;-)

Bah.. I need to change my vote. I've sold a metric buttload of whistles over the last couple of years, and I thought I had 5-10 left. I've got 20..bah. That's got to be a sign of some kind of whistle denial ;)
  • 1 Copeland brass D
  • 2 Feadogs in D, 1 Brass, 1 Nickel plated
  • 1 Feadan D
  • 1 Hoover nontunable D
  • 1 Brass B monstrosity from India that I got for $1.50
  • 2 O'Brien whistles, one soft and airy, one loud.
  • 2 copper whistles I made myself a few years ago.
  • 1 Acorn
  • 1 Walton's Guinness
  • 4 Generations, D, F, and C in brass, and nickel G
  • 2 Sweetone D
  • 1 "Trophy" brand $2.00 kids toy which is as in tune as my D Generation.
  • 1 Soodlum
not counted are the tour whistles: Syn low D..it's actually going to the Netherlands today. And the Weston copper D.

10-15 but a good half of them are mediocre brass generations. I suppose they'd be okay if I could be bothered to tweak them, but I'm lazy. :P

What is it with you and Bflats? The Thin Weasel Bflat I got from you is simply incredible! And Bflat is not one of my favorite keys. Not that I'm complaining or anything . . .

Maybe there should be a forum just for whistle selling and trading.

Over 50 right now, none sold yet but quite a few given away. I have whistles in all the standard keys so, high and low Ds apart, I really only have a few in each key. I like both cheapies and expensive whistles but aside from Generations and Susatos don't have many cheapies. I'm especially fond of Overton, Copeland lows, Burke, Sindt, Abell, Grinter and Busman. I also have about seven flutes.

If you think that's excessive you should see my guitar, bass and mandolin family collection. :o

I must say that it's a bit of a shame to see Cranberry's posting.
In all truthfulness,I thought that he was a way over the top O.T. poster in his hayday on the board, but I hope that he hasn't given up entirely on the whistle, and I wish him well.

Charlie, glad you're enjoying the Thin Weasel. I actually love Bflat, and have a Copeland, an Abell blackwood, a Silkstone PVC, a Water Weasel, and a Grinter Bflat. I would not part with the Copeland, Abell or Water Weasel (I repeat, best bang for the buck in whistledom).

Best,

Philo

I always pick-up a spare Clarke original or Meg to have at the house. Everytime someone (like my cousin last weekend) comes over and baffles at all the strange tubes I've got in my rack, I play them a couple of tunes, hand them a whistle and a fingering chart with the C&F web address and promise them instant salvation for joining the cult!

Water Weasels ARE the best bang for the buck!! Besides my Thin Weasel A, the Water Weasel D is the loudest whistle I own.
