Picture of Noy flutes, including my new one!

I just discovered this picture online. That's Peter Noy on the left, then Adrian something (Terry McGee's flute research partner), then (an unflattering image of) me, then a kid named Tristan. It was taken at Boxwood two years ago.

No, and No.

Yes, Nano, as I mentioned in my first post, that is an unflattering image of me. I didn't really look like that then. I kind of look like that now, but with shorter hair.

That's a great photo, and quite a selection of flutes ~ were they offered for sale, or were they for trial only?

How come you weren't caught with a boxwood flute in your hands, Jessie?:)

One year on the button (estimated) till mine arrives. Boy, looking at those really makes me want one of his early-music flutes, too. I'm glad I ordered boxwood, but the blackwood with faux-ivory rings really looks gorgeous.

Mary, I played all of them! The picture just happened to be taken with a blackwood one in my hands. Some of them were available for sale and I have kicked myself for not buying the boxwood one that was closest to me on the table. I did buy the boxwood Boehm headjoint that you can kind of see.

Charlie, estimated time is bogus. Mine has taken double what he said it would. Furthermore, I paid him in full over two months ago and I still don't have my flute. I think people are taking more notice of him, which is, of course, well-deserved.

that's cool! Just two days before that boxwood trip of Peter's, I played all the flutes he has on the table. I ACTUALLY asked to buy the boxwood one that Jessie referred to, but he was taking it to the event.

My noy is still one of my favorite flutes, and my best travel flute due to the cool pistol case, ease of swabbing, and the economical space design of the flute. He needs to make a nice wood cleaning rod instead of the metal one, and he would be complete!

My flute arrived yesterday! I am amazed. It is spectacular. Boxwood 8-key plus a Bb touch for the right hand, imitation ivory rings, silver slide, amber blowing edge and endcap with a big amber cabachon. it is the prettiest flute I have ever seen and I have not played a better one. I am in love, and it was worth the wait (same goes for my marriage).

I will take some pictures in the next day or two.

Jessie - mine is next but I'm having second thoughts about the Boxwood (mostly because Ojai is so hot and dry in the summer), I send Peter a piece of Ironwood to see how he likes it, but I need to make up my mind soon, Peter thinks that Blackwood is the wood most suitable for flutes.
So - maybe your pictures will help me make my mind (again

), I have on order exactly what he made for you but the extra Bb touch, I also ordered an Eb keyless body for it.

did you get the unthinned head?

Congratulations! Very cool. Is the head lined? Embouchure - trad Rudall oval or modern cut? Looking forward to pictures!

Unlined unthinned head with modern cut embouchure, Rudall holes on the flute.

I LOVE boxwood. Blackwood is much heavier and, for me, less comfortable to hold.
