Politics? On the C&F site?

Post by glands »

Oh well, I thought politics was off topic. Guess not. I entered the C&F site to post a notice and see a photo of John "The Waffle" Kerry with a whistle in one hand and a microphone in the other. Disgusting....just simply disgusting! The moderators of this board should take their own advice about not being offensive.

Maybe they can post one of Bush wearing a "special" person helmet and holding a lollypop in one hand and a dead American soldier in the other.

Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.

And if he's pro whistle, then, he has my vote.

I'm with Dr. Glands.

And the double standard that exists here is incredible.

I guess it's OK for the rules to be ignored by those that made them, is that it? :moreevil:

It's nonsense like this that ruin what are normally good and helpful sites.

By the way, Patrick, thanks for the link!

OK, I'll do my part not to get into it.

But what do I do now with my "A Voter's Guide for Uilleann Pipers"?

Politics? You must not go over to the whistle section that much! Anyway, at least Dale is fairly equal opportunity. Kerry is the only whistlin' Democrat, He's got whistlin' Dick Cheney on the index page and he used to have whistlin' Donald Rumsfeld (with Karate Chop Action!) on the intro page before. I wouldn't read too much into it. Burn a fatty and the election season will go alot smoother for you.

I think that Dale has stuck that thread up, in an attempt to keep such topics all gathered together into one place, thus keeping the regular threads 'politic free'.

I think it is a good idea, seems to've worked some. No matter how strict a board can be about folks staying on topic, there's always somebody (most likely me) who is going to hijack the thread and park it on a runway in the Middle East or Europe somewhere. :D

What exactly is offensive about Kerry holding a whistle by the way? Ever see Clinton holding a sax (or a cigar)? We could quickly stray into regions that truely are disgusting (or at least very unconventional) there.

I have had to endure a picture of Seamus Ennis with Bush's head stuck on it in my time here... the polar opposite to the 'wise head on a young pair of shoulders' methinks. And that's not politics... at this stage it is personal between me and the failed cowboy.

Regards,

HB.

Boy, I hope I don't look like Dub'ya. Oh, and those are not Dub'ya's extra arms. He wouldn't be into regulatoring. More like de-regulatoring.

And that CERTAINLY is not his beer.

No, that's not it, T. Too few fingers and not enough pies to poke them in.

Cheers,
