Happy Birthday to the still young nation of America!...

Happy Birthday to the still young nation of America!...

May it continue to learn through its struggles, may it always remember the 'little' guys and not be misled by the 'big' ones.

May its people always remember their freedoms and always stand to protect them for each other, not just themselves.

May it continue to grow in spirit and soul, and not fall prey to the lusts and temptations that plague all powers.

May it live on and learn from its mistakes, having the courage to stand up and admit them and to make ammends for any wrongs committed in its name.

May it find that respect is its due, not its demand, and that democracy is its reality, not its facade.

May it grow up to be all that its founders envisioned, and its citizens dream.

May it let freedom ring, resoundingly within its borders, for all.

May justice prevail, unfailingly within its borders, for all.

May its citizens find in it a trust that is not abused, a love that is not jaded, a faith that is not misled.

Hail America. May it be.

... Oh, and May it be full of whistles!

Suddenly remembering that this forum is hardly US-centric, she edits...

Amen!

It was meant in genuine spirit of hope and celebration, not as a challenge for debate.

And to those from outside North America reading this thread . . .

Nans means "brAHts," short for "bratwurst." Like a sausage. Not to be confused with "brÆts", rhyming with "hats," meaning children who are a nuisance.

We don't generally grill children. :)

Yes children taste much better if cooked in a Rotisery while lightly breaded. They also make a delicious pressure cooked barbeque. While grilling should be rerved for cooking a propperly prepaired venison steak... with some nice seasoned hickory wood that had been soaking in a bucket overnight so It smokes real good.

I wasn't referring to sausages. The little sh*t firing off fireworks in my direction as I awaited the bus whould have done very well. Their parents were on hand, even.

Well then... we could arrange a block party/BBQ and invite the brats and their prats...uh... parents...

on the other hand... it just might make me go veggie... tough old stringy rotten meat... yuck!

(as if it needs saying... *joke*)... but seriously... I do hate to see rudeness and endangerment ignored or supported by idiot parents

To enjoy the 4th of July, don't buy a fifth on the third..

Drive safely, everyone, if you are on the move for the holidays.
