It was a close race Between Young Frrahnkenshteen, History of the World Spaceballs, and Men In tights, and Blazing Saddles. I Picked Young Frankenstein because it turned me on to Mel Brooks flicks. "Eigor wasn't your hump on the other side?" "Hump? Sir? What Hump?"

Get Smart is chock full of satire, as is Batman. I wonder if Mel Brooks had anything to do with Batman?Walden wrote:I like Get Smart, maybe that doesn't count, but he is in the opening credits, after all.

The best part about Young Frankenstein is that it's so true to the original movie. How he can take word-for-word dialogue from a dramatic movie and make one laugh out loud is simply remarkable.
Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder were really on a roll for several years back then. Many of the movies in this list would be the best movie by just about anybody else.
Did anyone else see the AFI's top 100 movie songs the other night? "Springtime for Hitler" and "Puttin' on the Ritz" both made it.

It was a toss-up for me between The Producers and Blazing Saddles. No E wrote:It's obvious (to me anyway) that not enough of you have seen "The Producers."
Both are worthy.
