Happy Birthday to me!

Post by Redwolf »

It's not too bad turning 43 when you wake up in the morning to find that your husband has built a Trojan horse out of cardboard boxes in your living room...with a Burke Pro Session D hidden in its head! I'm over the moon! It's just gorgeous! I can't wait to sit down and start getting to know this beauty.

My daughter also gave me a DVD copy of "Finding Nemo," which I've been wanting for a while (it's probably my all-time favorite animated movie, and I've been meaning to buy it since it came out on DVD, but something else was always more urgent).

What a great birthday!

Happy birthday!

Wow, sounds like an outstanding start to what will hopefully be an equally outstanding day!

My 21st birthday was a week ago and I ordered myself a birthday whistle with some of the money. Can't wait to get it!

Have a great day, Redwolf! Many happy returns!

Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

and MANY happy returns.

One thing I have learned is that is someone does not buy you the present you want......

Happy birthday, Redwolf.

I vaguely remember 43. You're still a kid! :D

I have a Burke brass session D that I won in the recent C&F raffle. It's a wonderful whistle. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours.

Happy Birthday Redwolf. I have received whistles as gifts but I have never found a Trojan Horse in my living room. Is there a special story behind this? I hope you took pictures.

It's because of a dream I had a couple of nights ago and a family joke. Tony's been just burning to tell me about my present (this is the first time he's gotten me a whistle...he's been researching it for months without my knowing!). A couple of nights ago I had a dream that he woke me up the day before my birthday saying "I just can't wait anymore!" In the dream, I was very irritated that he was giving me my present a day early, and I was shocked and befuddled to discover that the gift was a huge cardboard Trojan horse that took up the entire living room! I told that to Tony and Johanna, and they got a kick out of it.

The family joke is that, whenever Tony asks me what I want for a birthday or for Christmas, I always answer "a pony." So what he made was actually a Trojan pony (which is just as well, as a full-sized horse wouldn't have fit on the dining room table!)

I think you're going to like that Burke.

What are you going to do with the horse?

I'm already in love with the Burke. I think I'm going to have to take a couple of pictures of the horse, and then keep him until I need a box to ship something in!
