Me too. I don't get it - where could you possibly find a more laid back, mild mannered inoffensive guy than me?Quiet John wrote:Take the quiz: <a href="http://www.zenhex.com/quiz.php?id=710">"Which Random Irish Gaelic Phrase Are You? Do phrases uttered by Groundskeeper Willie from the Simpsons count?
"I warnja. Didn't I warnja? That colored chalk was forged by Lucifer himself"
or
"Git yer haggis, right here. Chopped hart n' lungs. Boiled in a wee sheeps' stomach. Taste's as good as it sounds. Good for what ails ya.... ugh. Ugh."
or
"BONJOURRRRRR, ye cheese-eatin' surrender monkeys!" -

Poor old Dubhlinn as just got home after a eight hour shift, which came very soon after a eight hour intensive meeting with Arthur Guinness and John Jameson. The phrase which would best describe me at this moment is that quaint Dublin expression- " You look like a boiled sh*t."
Apropos to earlier posts, when the Pouges first burst onto the scene they were known as Pog ma Thoin. They were getting a fair bit of airplay on B.B.C. Radio 2 until somebody there sussed out what it meant. A quick meeting was arranged between all concerned parties and lo and behold, The Pouges were born!!
Indeed, well I am going to take myself off the boil and simmer down a bit with a starter of Taj Mahal and then try a main course of Tom Waits and some doc Watson for dessert. That usually does the trick.

I got 'Ta me air meisce' ,which is probably what Shane MacGowan would get, unless of course he got 'I am Pornographic (Shaun o'Graphic?)-Before 'Pogue Mahone',he was in a band called 'The Nips' (short for the N*pple erectors, had to be careful there, these things have caused quite a furore>Eddie and Finbar Furore, anyone? < lately).Zubivka wrote:So, it was the Pogues.
