UK WHISTLE GATHERINGS?

Post by Jetboy »

You know, all these threads about Whistle\fests and gatherings in the US has set me wondering if there are many UK and European Chiff & Fipplers who might think about something on this side of the Pond?

I don't mind organising something if there is enough interest.

I will be living in London starting in September and I'd love to get together if you'd accept an American into the mix. ;)

The Burwell Bash is not exclusively whistles, but it's great gathering - check the website. This year's Bash starts 2nd August I think.

Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

Does not have to be exclusively whistes (see our Bay Area thread). I also would guess that a "private" party would be a lot more flexible in format and activity.

I'm based in Manchester and have access to several venues in the centre of town near train and buss stations we could use if anyone is interested.

Yes, I know it's been a looong time coming, but it will happen. I mean we have windows now...but no heating, floors, or staircase.

Patience, patience...

Dale DID somewhere promise us another visit...I think? One where we could demonstrate our erm whistling prowess, or lack of it....

You can have two heads and webbed feet for all I care. If you can blow a whistle .........! Come to think of it, if you've got two heads you can be an ensemble!

Heehee...if I had two heads and webbed feet they might decide not to let me into the country... :o  I am applying for my visa within the next few weeks - crossfingering all the way!

Well there are at least 5 whistlers I've met in the Portsmouth/Southampton end of Hampshire..... so you aren't TOO far from civilisation :-)

And it would've been more, but I moved from Gosport to Swindon for the work...

Although come to think of it any reason to move out of Gosport would've been good enough fer me... :)
