I don't mind the threads that are clearly intended to be political. I just don't bother to read threads like the current monster titled "political."DaleWisely wrote:I have to admit that I am baffled by this myself. Although people say to me all the time that the board is all OT and so much politics, at any given time if you count the last 50 or so threads, the great majority aren't OT, or at least aren't TOO OT.OnTheMoor wrote:Too much politics? I see one political thread in the most recent fifty threads and it isn't exactly hidden. Unless you consider the United States of America Greeting Card political.
Too bad there's not another option right under "Too much politics." It could be "Too much complaining about too much politics."
What I object to is that there are a handful of people around here who seem bent on making every thread into a political thread.
Of course, those who are guilty of this aren't likely to recognize the situation or consider it a problem, are they?

I think Wisely was Wise to do the Political. It's a catch-all and can and will go in any direction without filling the screen. I suppose he could start a Relgious and Philosophical thread as well.
How do you prepare for the end of the world?

Nah, I wasn't talking about you Weeks. You usually get sucked (or suckered) in, but you don't usually start the politicization of a thread as near as I can tell. The Weekenders wrote:I try not to, John, if you are talking about me.OutOfBreath wrote:What I object to is that there are a handful of people around here who seem bent on making every thread into a political thread.
