An odd thought about the moderators.

Post by Walden »

This thought just occurred to me.

The moderators are Rich, Alan, and Dale.

Wasn't Alan-a-Dale a character in the ballads of Robin Hood, the guy who stole from the Rich to give to the poor?

Why yes, I do believe you're right, Walden. You have a LOT of time on your hands, don't you? :D

Alan a-Dale, or however you spell it, was the minstrel in the group. Hmmm...he who brought music to the merry men...played by a fox in the Disney cartoon version.

For a second there, I thought I thought you were going the route of the Three Chipmunks...

Actually, Alan-a-Dale was a rooster, Robin Hood was a fox. :)

You're so right. Maid Marian was a fox too, right?

There was only one decent Robin Hood movie:

The only one where Robin actually has a Brittish accent!

One of our family's all time faves... I have been disappointed to not see much more of Cary Elwes... he's quite a good and funny actor. He was "Wesley" in the "Princess Bride", and the evil uncle in the new "Ella Enchanted".

I thought he and Val Kilmer would make a good pair for off beat comedy/adventure/swashbuckler/thriller... they look enough alike to be believable as brothers, and Kilmer has good comedy timing as well. He was great as the villian/hero in "Willow"

Indeed, and a musician as well... and I have to agree. You opned with, "An odd thought about the moderators"... I always have thought the moderators a bit odd. (said in the most loving and complementary way possible, :D )

For some reason he's been doing bad guys. Remember "Liar Liar"?

(with Maura Tierney!)

He was in the "Jungle Book" (cartoon), "Pentagon Wars", "Kiss the Girls", "Quest for Camelot" (cartoon) and some other junk.

One of my daughter's all-time favorites (along with Where's Bob? with Richard Dreyfuss and Bill Murray). :)

Another piece of useless trivia: the music for the song "Men in Tights" appeared before in Mel Brook's "History of the World Part I", as the theme for the movie "Jews in Space". :)

Wow! I think with this piece of trivia, Glauber rivals Walden for the award of having too much time on their hands. :)
