So, what about timing?

Second half of June? Sometime in July or August?

June or early Fall would be nice weatherwise.

I suspect blind and toothless may not be optimum for good whistle playing...but then again...

We could always Get together at the Bethlehem PA Celtic Fest in September. I mentioned it last year and no one on this list except me went. Here's a little Snippet from some Hotel Website:

About the Celtic Classic Festival
The Celtic Classic Highland Games and Festival in downtown Bethlehem, Pennsylvania is the largest such gathering with 150,000 attending over the last Friday, Saturday and Sunday of September each year. The event brings together the rich heritage of the Irish, Scottish, and Welsh cultures. The Celtic Classic plays tribute to professional highland athletes from around the world who compete in such events as the sheaf toss, hammer throw, Braemar stone throw, the caber toss, and others. The Celtic Classic invites the public to enjoy the many ethnic foods, crafts, and demonstrations located throughout the festival.

IF PA is too southerly they're not Yanks, they're Canucks :)

It's too southerly for me, at least as a day trip, which is probably the only way I could go.

I live in Holyoke right near Northampton and Look park would be a great spot you might have to rent a pavillion there though, but there are probably plenty of places just to gather in the park. The Mt. Tom Reservation in Holyoke is a great spot with tables and small grills, but hard to navigate around if you don't know the area. I used to attend a session in Northampton at the Bishop's lounge every week, the restaurant has moved and so has the session with it but they might let you gather. I know several bar and restaurants in the Holyoke area, but its a rougher city than northampton, there's the John Boyle O'Reilly club in Springfield but again it may cost money to have it there.

I would love to be there, I'm sure my friend and bandmate would also come, He's a great whistler. Let us know when, Patrick Dunn

Patrick,
they're back at Bishops now, after an unpleasant spell at other venues. I never make it down on Thursday nights anymore, too bad.

I'll look into Look Park, see what would be involved in reserving a spot there. It has the great advantage of being easy to find and easy to reach off the highway. Can you think of an indoor venue in Northhampton or vicinity that would be suitable for a gathering of several whistlers on a Sunday afternoon?

All: I think Sunday afternoon will be the best option for a gathering. Any comments, any first suggestions for a date?

Uhh gee man, I don't think I know you well enough to recommend someone for you to bring as a date........

You could always try a personal ad.

Stop sending them my picture, I'm sure you'll have better luck.
