Felix Doran's "Last of the travelling pipers" is a fine LP, definitely worth having as it hasn't been reissued as a CD as of yet. Fine piping. Felix also did some sides for Copley back in the day. Felix's grandson, Mickey Doran is carrying on the tradition, only one tune left on the site now unfortunately:

Yes, Mickey will be interesting to hear say in 6-7 years time if he keeps on playing and doesn't get sidetracked or lose interest. There used to be 20-25 minutes of Mickey playing on the site, but seems like they have just the one tune these days. Whatever happened to Michael O'Connor? I think that was his name. A young man, resembled Elvis Presley and played very fast on a Cillian O'Briain full set. He was at a Johnny Doran weekend a couple of years ago and I heard him play in Ennis once. Is he still piping?

Well ... they whole set of tunes is still there. You just need to change something in the settings of the .ram file.Steampacket wrote:[...] There used to be 20-25 minutes of Mickey playing on the site, but seems like they have just the one tune these days. [...]
1. Go to the page
2. Right-click on the "Listen" and safe it to your harddisk (should be named "woysmikey.ram")
3. Open it in a text-editor
4. Change the "end" argument to something else than it is right now. I haven't tried the full length yet (9 minutes ???). With 9 minutes playing time it might look as:
5. Safe the file with the changes you madertsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/radio3/woysmikey.rm?start="00:00"&end="09:00"
6. Double-click or open it directly with RealPlayer and enjoy!
