Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Attested to be from the Italian verb buscare, "to procure".

I thought buscare was a kind of toast.

Punch in the Irish context is whiskey mixed with water or tea and/or a variety of other ingredients, often served warm. (In the USA, punch is a sweet, non-carbonated soft drink served at parties, sometimes "spiked" with alcohol). Punch, in the Chicago context, is what you get in your jaw when you say something stupid.

Porter is the same as stout (e.g. Guinness)

I'm guessing "Séan O'Neil" is not the name your parents gave you

Erwin Hochleitner or Xaver Gruber or Leopold Obermair are more likely... ;)

I live in a small village an the next irish pub is 15 miles away!!!

(hmm, "Brace yourself": I want this to be the title of my first solo album. Anyone knowing a tune with that name?)

Séan-

Sorry, no offense or criticism intended. Please keep asking questions, it's the only way to learn some of the "secret code" of ITM.

Kind regards,

Larry Dunn (Labhrás Ó Duinn, spelled with 2 n's and No E)

PS- We may have to talk about that Strongbow avatar.
