A dollar to start the post, two bucks for the first reply, three for the second reply, etc. That'll help keep 'em short!

I'm in. Just tell me where to send the check (a year at a time would be better). But like Bloo, I'd prefer no names in the newsletter.

Thanks, Dale, for everything.

CF funding is a worthy cause. I'm ready to become the patron saint of spittle.

Let donations be a group effort. Call us "Chiffers like You."

I do expect a tiny, useless totebag and an autographed photo of Dale . . . promotional gifts, you know. :D

Please update up and let us know where we came send checks or money orders.

Once a year, by pay pal. Remind people how much they pay for whistles.
I'm gonna tell that chicken to pay my donation for next year and see what happens.
My opinion is stupid and wrong.

I wouldn't need my name in the newsletter. It would be enough if non-paying users would be forced to kneel and say "hail, most honoured patron" three times when i pass them on the street.

Dale, I'd suggest an International C&F Month. Make it May, for example, and during that month you put a note in the newsletter and a sticky at the top of the boards reminding all that this is the month. Post what you estimate the costs to be for the upcoming year, directions on how one might Paypal or, for weeks, send you a cheque for the $$, and then rack up the cash.

This keeps you from having to "remind" people throughout the year of financial realities, and keeps the collections administrivia down to a single month's nuisance. Anyone asking during the year about donations gets a simple invite to watch for the note in May.

I suspect you'll more than cover your costs no matter which way you go about it. This place is appreciated.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Carol says it best for me. And like Bloomfield, I'd rather have my name not listed, please. I do a good enough job holding myself up to the light as an embarrasment as it is.

Not that being a patron would be an embarrasment! But all of that's up to you, Dale.

Hi Dale....Although I am a newby here...I really love this place and would support some type of subscription donation. I also belong to an art website group very similar to this one. It is called WetCanvas at www.wetcanvas.com They have a voluntary subscription program where people donate a voluntary amount through Paypal or by hand written check. A check gets placed next to our names and avatar when we post that we are a subscriber. If you need help, I'm sure the website's admistrator Scott Burdick will give you some advice. Wet Canvas started out in the late 1990's and now has over 30,000 members!!! They have forums just like yours in different art subjects or mediums....like Watercolors or Still Lifes. It is a great site for sure!! (just like this one!!)

I would be happy to contribute to this wonderful site!! I have learned sooo much....and gained so much with my whistle playing from using this board as well as Clips n Snips.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Oh! Is that what Bloomfield meant? *cleans her glasses*

In that case, me too.

Actually, make it a buck for every post to an OT thread, then make it ex post facto going back to the start of the board, and you've got yourself a bundle.

I'd also vote for no names in the newsletter.

Tell us something.: Long ago, I was told that I faked iTrad whistle work very well. I took that comment to heart. 20 years of private lessons - and many, many hours of rehearsal later - I certainly hope I have improved...

Thanks for your ideas and support. I'll make a pitch in the next newsletter. It'll be cooler than your member NPR stations.
