- Tell us something.: I've been with Chiff and Fipple since shortly after I bought my first low D. I've learned loads from this community, and I intend to continue to learn and contribute. Many thanks to Dale and everyone who makes this site happen.

I don't do the god thing, but to the extent that good wishes will help, you have all I can give Perhaps I can offer some encourageent as well?
Nine years ago I had open-heart surgery (quad bypass). As many here can testify, I'm still here, still kcking and just as obnoxious as ever. Once the surgery is successfully completed, make sure she follows orders for cardiac rehabilitation - it makes all the difference in the world.

Thanks, Chuck.Chuck_Clark wrote:Once the surgery is successfully completed, make sure she follows orders for cardiac rehabilitation - it makes all the difference in the world.
I'll tell her you said so. If she protests, I'll show her your avatar.
And thanks for your good thoughts. I'm convinced they have an effect.
Best wishes,
Jerry

You've both got my prayers and best wishes.
I know when I've had to go through tough times, I've been amazed at what can be done that I'd never have thought possible. One day at a time........

My Father-in-Law had triple bypass this last year. He's a very positive and hard working man. These attributes pulled him through his surgery with flying colors. I'm sure Arleen is also positve and hard working, a lot of good women are. My dealings with you Jerry has led me to believe you're a positive person also. Keep the faith no matter what. Work like it's up to you and pray like it's up to the Lord and He'll provide what you need. I'll be praying for Arleen and you. We'll put you guys on the prayer rolls at church also.
God Speed,
Jon

Thanks, everyone, for your kind thoughts and prayers, words and deeds.
Arleen rested over the weekend, took Monday and Tuesday off to recuperate from Friday's episode and sort out what to do.
As things stand now, she'll be going to Boston for May 17 surgery, the earliest date available, which leaves quite a bit of time between now and then.
Feeling better after four days' rest, she went to work this morning, only to discover that Friday's episode has brought her down further than before, and she's not going to be able to work at all between now and the surgery.
This, I think, will be a mixed blessing, since she's been struggling, really, for several years, with intermittent lightheadedness, failing energy, and irregular heartbeat, but somehow by force of will, has managed to keep up her very demanding work. Now, she'll be able to take it easy for awhile before the surgery. I think that will be welcome relief, but we'll have to figure out how to make ends meet over a longer haul than we had realized before.
The more we learn about this surgery, the more it looks like it may be a godsend. As I said, Arleen's struggled for several years now, and all indications are, after she's fully recovered from surgery, she may feel considerably better and regain some of the life force that had been lost.
Again, I can't thank you enough for your encouragement and support. You are a treasure, and I consider myself blessed to have found you.
Best wishes,
Jerry

Jerry,
I'm not much of a pray-er but I can tell you that I have met many people in the course of my employment in the cardiology division who had a valve replaced. All of them felt that they had been reborn with greater energy and stamina than ever before. The first few weeks after the surgery are a chore but after that it just gets better. So keep you spirits and optimism up. The goal is in sight.

- Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free - Location: Loren has left the building.
