Fiddle wanted (Flutes all gone!)

Post by Jack Bradshaw »

I know, I know....this is a flute list......Spring to-be always brings out the strange ones. The keyless DeKeyser seems to have served its temporary duty in grand style and returned a meandering flautist to the proper attitude. However, the encounter seems to have passed on a certain amount of (virolinal) infection. Esp. as I don't play one at this point.

Sooo...if someone has become recently disechanted with an ex-cigar box fitted with feline internals (or sat on one for that matter) and has some interest in upgrading to a reliable instrument...the DeKeyser (including some touching up...depends) is available for swapping.

Well...looking long and hard at the flute collection and thinking what I could do without ......

Dixon D whistle and flute combo (better whistle than a flute)...$ 55

De Keyser in D (after crack repair and replace ring) ... $ 225

Hammy Hamilton 7-hole (that's the C-nat mod)......hmmmm....$ 550

Still looking for info on fiddles.....don't know what the sudden appeal is but the itch is certainly there...

Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

Just curious Jack: Where (around the axis) is that Cnat hole located - assuming normal in-line holes would be at 12 o'clock.

I had fiddle lust once. I got a beautiful fiddle and tried, for three months, to play it. The excruciating pain between my shoulder blades, caused by bowing the fiddle, didn't lessen and I decided to stick with woodwinds.

The Cnat hole looks to be at 90 degrees to the others....side of the left thumb......probably right where it would be if it had a key...
