The only whistle I have on order is a boxwood Abell d. He says he can't guarantee against cracking, but I am taking a chance.

Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

Cool! You finally got Chris to cave on the Boxwood, eh?

If I had money lying around I'd pick-up an Abell G and or a Grinter Low F. I'd also take a trip to the Copeland shop and time it to catch them when they've got a batch of D and C soprano's just finishing, so I play 'em all and pick one.

It was good to read from Stuart that the Abell G he got was great. I'm glad Chris improved upon the prototype (Stuart told me that Chris had done a lot of work on the mouthpiece before offering it to the public). I found the prototype WAY TOO BREATHY.

Well, I've my Lon Dubh and my set of Abells in Blackwood (G, A, Bb, C, D, Eb, and F). Though I'd love an Abell in pink ivory (wood), I'm not sure of another key I'd really use.

However, by the end of the week, my new baby will be here: a Ralph Sweet Professional whistle/fife (interchangable heads) in Blackwood with three keys (D#, F nat., and G#). Can't wait for that one!

There is still a Sweetheart Professional Model in my future after the taxman payeth (provided another sociopath doesn't decide to do in my windshield!).

Tell us something.: Used to live in Gilbert, AZ which is a suburb of Phoenix. Recently moved to Portland OR. Argh. Not sure if this is meeting the requirement of number of characters, but I'm trying.

ah, you must have caught me at the right time . . . i don't have any on order, or any trades brewing, or any desire for such at present. i am loving my thin weasel d and enjoying learning more of its capabilities. it is a much much better whistle than i am a player.

I should have Grinter low-F and -G coming in the next few weeks. After that, the only thing I have my heart set on is a Thin Weasel A.

I just got a Susato soprano D so my WhOA is sated for now but I'm still afflicted.

I'm still waiting on my Uilleann Pipes (3&½ years) and I just ordered a Concertina from Frank Edgley yesterday. :)

Hmm, Ive got an Elfsong low D on order (ditto on the 8 to 10 weeks).
Also a parkhurst set that should arrive within the next week or so (poor people at the front desk must think I'm crazy, always bouncing down to check the mail list then slink away as my hopes are dashed again).

I am actually completely content... for now

I have seven Syns to get used to... and man they are good...

and I am learning pipes... I think the next instrument I get will be a flute...

Then I might start thinking about a low E whistle... but for now... perfectly happy.

After getting my first expensive whistle this month I think that's me for a while. Next purchase will be a flute.
