New website up... (commercial message)

Post by brewerpaul »

Hi Folks-- my new website is up and running (same www.busmanwhistles.com URL). Not a huge amount of new content except for a few pics, but the site is cleaner and easier to navigate. Thanks for all the suggestions and comments, even if I didn't use all of them :P
One pretty Kingwood still waiting for a good home, and a new batch starting tomorrow ( I promise, Mike...).
Got wood?

Very nice, Paul! You're on my list for my next self-indulgent spending spree.

One wee suggestion, if I may...on your subpages you might add a "Home" button.

All the best!

All I get is the flashpage. Nothing clicks except the envelope.

Ditto for me! :-?

Hi Paul,

The home page looks great, however nothing to click to go further except for the email and Tinwhistle WebRing.

Sounds like some folks see different stuff. I wonder if it is related to the type of Browser or Operating System.

I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0 and Microsoft XP.

Look forward to seeing more!

Paul,

I sent you an email with a screen snap shot and the html source code that my computer receives and is translating.

Hope it helps!

another ditto here. I use Mozilla Firebird, which is basically a modified netscape-type browser.

Counter, envelope, webring icon, and photo of some truly lovely looking whistles. Talk about whetting our whistles! ;-)

I'm ditto on the showing clickables. Further, the color in the webring buttons is pale pink on my monitor, almost invisible. I can override it, but I shouldn't need to.

I STRONGLY suggest using frames for your navigation, even if it's only two - content top, nav bottom. Makes your users' lives much easier. It needn't be obvious, and there are very few browsers any more that don't support frames. In fact, I can't think of any.

I STRONGLY suggest getting two people, one with normal vision and one who's red-green colorblind to pass on the readability of the page, especially the button text, and anything anyone's gonna want to read. The RG colorblindness affects quite a few people, mostly males.

You make pretty whistles, Paul! I certainly love mine! :)

Well, it looks GREAT in Netscape 7.0, and everything works. Good idea, including the clip.

And if I may add, for anyone considering, Kingwood makes a very pretty whistle :)
