I think you've said more since you "backed away" from the fora than you did BEFORE you backed away.

Nice to see your posts, Dale!

Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

I can start throwing mud about if that's what really needed.

I like this forum because:

1) It's mainly on topic. OT threads are fine in moderation, but too many and they kill the purpose of the forum. When the flute questions become lost in the noise, the forum dies.

2) Folks are alway pleasant, sometimes with a wink and a nod, and helpful.

So thanks for answering all my potentially obvious questions over the past couple years.

Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

Yeah, but how many 1K posters do you have over here? That has to be worth something...... doesn't it?

I learned to play the flute in this forum by lurking and reading then trying what read from those that posted good and sincere information and knowledge and good questions. It's peaceful over here!

Thanks Dale for visiting!

Steven,

it's the LACK of 1K posters on the flute board that is important. I mean, we're not just a bunch of whistlers and pipers here - we're flautists. Each and every post is pithy and highly substantive...except perhaps for this one. :P

Eric*

*Please take this post for what it really is - meaningless drivel like the stuff flowing out of the end of a flute, perhaps into your glass if you leave it within my aim...guess who's feeling sleep deprived today?

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Next person that calls me a flautist gets it square in the gob. I'm a fluter, and a flute player when I'm dressed up.

Empty words, Pat. I can just see a gang of menacing pipers strapped in and waddling about, wary of each other's space, fumbling with errant blowpipes and getting distracted every time they think they hear a drone reed come loose in the reckoning we cowering fluteplayers are supposed to face. Ha. Apple polishers? Go polish yer regs, gearhead. :P

My M&E keyless would make a hell of a good club.

You could even run it through the dish washer when done to get the gore off.

All of which goes to show that MarkB has only scratched the surface of fluting. We are, deep down, slathering barbarians. Be afraid. Be very afraid. :D
