Thank goodness, that isn't the case, there are lots of web browsers available. If IE were the only one, I wouldn't be on the internet, knowing what I have learned about security. IMHO, IE is the worst of the lot.
Apparently, there are a lot of web designers who aren't very well informed and use wysiwyg web editors provided by Microsoft who ignores generally accepted standards (computing, web, business, etc) and "embraces and extends" such things so as to break other competing apps rendering.
E-mails to the webmaster can sometimes help, but the internet is overloaded by people ignorant of the technology.
My web pages are designed to be best displayed by links, a command line browser. They are written using a simple text editor.
