Everything tastes like chicken. There was a Far Side cartoon once with one snake telling another: "guess what? we taste like chicken!"
A wonder what a thin weasel tastes like.

That reminds me of Bob Goldthwaite's joke,
What's the difference between a hamster and a gerbil?
There's more white meat on a hamster.

meat?"
Yeah, and as we are made out of human flesh, of course we are supposed to eat ... guess what!
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I confirmed four Chinese friends who live in Nanking and they all said
"Cats taste like chickens."
"Snakes reminds me of eels."
My conclusion; Truth is tastier.
update: I have never had any cats nor snakes. For dinner, I mean.

Yeah, I've seen it all. When we went to China to visit my in-laws I was on mostly a "no thank you" diet. I did eat these, though:
My in-laws live out near Tibet in Northwest China. This restaurant was in a back alley in Beijing where we were visiting friends on the way out west. The fellow who took us there, our friend, Manager Eng, said it was his favorite one in the city.
The scorpions were deep-fried live and are largely without taste. I would describe them as crunchy. that black stuff on the side is some kind of spice-powder to dip the scorpions in. Manager Eng said that they make you stronger. My wife said "now you can tell everyone at home you ate bugs!" I just had to take a picture of the plate! We all got drunk off some kind of brown liquor that was stored in a large jar with orange fishtank gravel at the bottom. There were sticks and twigs in it along with 2 or 3 dead snakes fermenting away.
I would be hard-pressed to say what else was served at that meal. I didn't recognise any of it and I didn't eat a whole lot of it. It was a great experience, that whole day. We toured around with Manager Eng and his son and finished out the day watching live traditional Beijing Opera in a famous old opera house.
