Hmmmm, that looks familiar Tony. You wouldn't be in my neck of the woods would you? Give a shout if you are cause I wouldn't pass up the chance for some whistle/flute related crimes against nature. Anyways I hope you are enjoying yourself. It sure beats the crap out of a hot weekend stuck in traffic in the Bay Area. Now all you need to do is get a house up there so you can get out of the city every weekend. We could carpool!! hehe
No I'm not returning...

Tony!
It's rare, but sometimes we find the center of the universe. Too bad that the universal 'hub' is moving from spot to spot so fast that we are only able to enjoy it for a few days at a time. Thank goodness that the UH (Universal Hub) is attracted the sounds of bubbling water, rustling leaves and good whistling!

Congrats,
Eric

Oh, Boy, and my vacation starts tomorrow! Flying back home to Seattle, where my mom assures me the temp has been in the low 80's ~ perfect!

I can almost smell those evergreens now! What a great picture! Enjoy!

Great pic! Whereabouts was it taken? It almost looks like my favorite hiking trail here in Mount Hermon.

The whole thing was faked with photoshop. I'm really in a business suit at a board (bored) meeting. Just kidding.

Siskyou Mountains in Northern California, not too far from the southern Oregon border. On a Calif map, take I-5 to Yreka, cut over to Fort Jones, Etna, find the North Fork of the Salmon River about 5 miles from Sawyers Bar. We spent a lot of time at the river swimming, jumping off a big rock, and, of course, I played the whistle down there. The temperature got up to about 105F a couple of days. (Too hot for me.) Cooled right down to about 65 at night, TG. Spent a week there. My father-in-law built this cabin in 1960. He's added things to it over the years, like a hot shower, gas lighting, even has a gas powered refrigerator which I placed beer in (and removed at regular intervals). Worked on a couple of new reels, Woman of the House and Tim Moloney's. Yep, good time.

Hmm... Are you really Swedish, or is the ring not from a Canadian Tradition?

Wow, nifty picture! Tony, it looks like you were really having an excellent time.

Nothing like being out in the boonies close to nature with your whistle. :)

Well, except it's a low f whistle. And I wasn't playing it at that moment, I was photographing it with the other hand (and a camera). Did anyone notice the rt hand is missing from the photo? I'm surprised no one mentioned it. :boggle:

Tony,
I noticed along with the fact that the ring is on the ring finger, not the pinky that Pan indicated.

I also notice the back of the triangular warning sign along the path. Question? Does the other side say:

WARNING
Propery Guarded by Overton
Intruders will be serenaded until they turn Irish green

OR...

A quiet mind rests
as finger, heart, and breath,
weave melody
to carpet a forest path
to a cabin filled.
Enjoy Your Music,
