This Year's Lowell Folk Festival Dates!

National Council for the Traditional Arts and the City of Lowell
The Lowell Folk Festival®-the largest free folk festival in the nation-is
three days of traditional music, dance, craft demonstrations, street
parades, dance parties, and delicious ethnic foods, presented on six outdoor stages throughout the city of Lowell, Massachusetts. Friday, July 25, 7:00-10:00 pm; Saturday, July 26, noon - 10:00 pm; Sunday, July 27, noon - 7:00 pm. Presented by Lowell National Historical Park, Lowell Festival Foundation, National Council for the Traditional Arts and the City of
Lowell.

Among those performing at the 2003 Lowell Folk Festival® will be:
Alternate Roots Acoustic String Band, Scottish favorite Old Blind Dogs,
electric blues from Lonnie Brooks, red-hot Zydeco dance music from Keith
Frank and the Soileau Zydeco Band, and Viento de Agua, Puerto Rican Salsa and Bomba y Plena music. The 2003 Lowell Folk Festival® will also feature craft demonstrations focused on textile arts, over twenty varieties of delicious ethnic foods and a family activity area.

Transportation to the Lowell Folk Festival® from the Boston area is available via the MBTA Commuter Rail-Lowell Line, which departs from North Station. A special MBTA Festival Train leaves Boston at noon on Saturday, July 26 with a marching band aboard bringing festival goers to Lowell in grand style.
