Paul Anka: Havin' My Baby :adminno:

Torn Between Two Lovers (don't care to remember who did it) :tomato:

Too bad there's not a puking emoticon!

This tread would be fun it didn't bring back so many horrid memories

Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

Anything that Whitney Houston sings (screams?)! Her voice grates on my nerves.......

Though it may be unpopular to say, I can't stand U2's stuff either. The lead singer's voice is sooo whiney, and unpleasant.....

Then there's Neil Diamond. Wrote good lyrics, but can't stand his voice....

Oh, and don't get me started on the puke that Celine Dion spews on the public....

And while I'm at it, modern rock sucks rocks!!!!! They're all a bunch of copy-cat, re-hashers with no original artistic integrity......

Thank you for letting me vent

It's limited to pop. Any list of worst songs which by its very nature excludes "Achy-Breaky Heart" is plain BOGUS!

Quite right Chuck. My fault. Let it be decreed that Country Western is also fair game.

"You Can Ring My Bell" -- I really don't even want to remember who inflicted this one on us in the 70s.

"Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" by Culture Club -- Yes, we do!

Another band who dropped out of sight when they started making decent music! Doesn't say much for the record-buying public, does it?

P.S. - If you liked A-Ha's later album material, go to MP3.com and check out Avalon Rising, especially the songs "Perilous Garde", "Where the Sunset is Golden", and "Reborn".

I can't believe no one has mentioned "Papa Don't Preach". This song inspires a feeling of violent revulsion in me.

Or "Let's Get Physical". Projectile vomiting, anyone?

How bout "Superfreak"? I feel like I need to take a bath after hearing this one.

"Livin' on a Prayer"? I never liked Bon Jovi then, still don't.

Where I grew up, Bob Seger got a disproportionate amount of airplay, so much so that I can't listen to any of his work, especially "Kathmandu". ARRGHHH.

Gotta agree with the dig at Whitney Houston earlier, and ditto Celine Dion.

I'd rather undergo unnecessary surgery then hear another peep from either of them.

The Carpenters.
Disco.
Madonna's entire body of work; in particular, "Like a Virgin". The horror.

I love Cher.

I love Madonna.

I love Disco.

I love Celine Dion (in a stalker sort of way).

I love t.A.t.u.

And I'm not ashamed to say so.

I still sometimes listen to the Spice Girls (I am ashamed to say that :P ).

There is no shame in it... though I suspect you are probably too young to have been subjected to "Disco Duck" and the Bee Gees and... oh, never mind, I'm showing my age. I was in college in the 70s and proudly wore a T-shirt that said "Disco Sucks." Classy.

and...many years ago, on one accursed evening someone held a party in a yard behind the house I lived in. It went on till 4 in the morning, I had to go to work the next day, and they played "Like A Virgin" at least 72,000 times...over and over... it got more and more shrill each time till I was sure my head would explode. It was not a song, it was an instrument of torture. Uh, is it possible I'm not objective about this genre? ... :)

Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me".

Anything the Rolling Stones released after "Start Me Up".

J Geils' "Centerfold". Gawd I hate that one.

Van Halen's "Why Can't This Be Love?" Ugh.
