TOT - Yeee haaa! I got into grad school in Costa Rica!!!!!

Post by ChrisLaughlin »

 Whoooo hoooo! A week after getting my beautiful new flute I have just received my acceptance to the Masters program in International Law and the Settlement of Disputes at the University for Peace in Costa Rica. I am besides myself with happiness.
I will move to Costa Rica in a month and a half, begin classes in September, and a year later I will have my Masters (the fates willing!).
I am sooooo happy!!! :D :D :D :D

Sure, Chris. I'll 'take care of' your flute while you're in graduate school--I know how busy you'll be.

Wonderful news! Congratulations!

Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

Yo, Chris, send me that tune cannon. You know I'll baby it, and I promise to do you proud as adjutant Tyrant to the Tradition while you've got your head in your books. It'll be a musical scepter of State. :D

Congrats to you!

Congrats! Wonderful stuff. :)

Doesn't sound like it's actually a program for lawyers, though. I wouldn't know, of course, but I hear there are some cute babes down in P.R.... ;)

There are some cute babes down in Costa Rica, too, Bloom! I was down there in '92. The place is as close to paradise as you can get. The people are wonderful. ... 'course they'll part you from your wallet as quick as anything in the marketplace (marvelous pickpockets), but that aside, they're wonderful people. I bought my Quena(sp?) down there.

You will LOVE it, Chris. Congrats!!!!

Babes a plenty in CR, you can be sure.
But be truly careful of pickpockets in
the cities, especially San Jose.
The work in teams, one to distract
you, the other to pick your
pocket. And the odds are that it
will happen to you, too.
Best to carry valuables where
they can't be stolen. One strategy
is to spray mustard on you and
then, when you take off your
bag or pouch or whatever,
grab it and run.

As in all the world's great universities, it doesn't much matter, as long as you tip the instructors well.

Thanks so much everyone for all the kind words :)
It's not a program to become a lawyer.... it's a degree in Peace Studies with a focus in International Law and the Settlement of Disputes.
The classes are English, but I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunity to improve my Spanish.
Above all, I am glad to hear that there are many beautiful women....
