Thought I'd list the CDs that are currently spinning in my player. If someone wants to add theirs to the thread, it'll make an interesting reference for everybody else. All include whistle (except where noted), either as a primary instrument or as an accompaniment:

I picked up Kate Rusby's "Hourglass" a few weeks ago. I love this album. Irish/english tales, some happy, some mournful. I love to find those songs that make me cry . . . I'm not sentimental at all, but there's something in her delivery that makes some of these tracks so darn sad. Favorites: "Annan Waters", "A Rose in April", "I am Stretched Out on your Grave", and "Old Man Time", the latter being her composition. Tony McManus plays on two of the songs.

I'm with Lily and Soin -- Red Rice is one of my all-time favorite records. How Liza switches from the straightforward trad to the twisted stuff is remarkable.

Current faves: All 3 Deanta albums, all 4 by Connie Dover, the Glute Geezers (from Rich's website), and a few Yes albums from the classic lineup, especially Close to the Edge. And, just in, the Renaissance BBC sessions.

Always in my mind are most of Steeleye Span, Planxty, Renaissance, a lot of Romantic trios (Brahms, Dvorak, Ravel), Beethoven symphonies. There's just so much good music out there that it's difficult sometimes to listen to my own tooting.

I can't say that I've been listening to a lot of whistle music lately. I've been playing a lot though.

I'm really stuck on Jesse Cook. Robbie Robertson is a runner up and then the Chieftans, a bit of Flook thrown in there as well. And Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong.....

Me too! Probably because I saw them in concert only a few weeks ago :D , bought both CDs on the spot, and love Sarah Alla's Staccato pops and Brian Finnigan's triple-tonguing. My fave track is 'Pressed for Time'.

I'm also listening to TPTestcard a lot, and I'm loving a track 'Paddy's Paradise' from Phil Hardy's 1st Album.

I listen to a lot of different things but some recent favourites are:
Naked Raven, Kate Rusby, Waterson/Carthy, John Doyle, Paddy Canny, John Williams solo outings and the Vegh Quartet recordings of the Beethoven string quartets.

I saw Kevin and Grey in concert a couple of weeks ago...great show.
They even played a whistle duet!
