A dictionary, a rotund green coffee cup, my black handbag, my Clarke, a box of tissues, a dictionary, poems, a short story I'm editing, school papers, a pink telephone, a scanner, a copy of Out of the Silent Planet (in hardcover!), and who knows what all is hiding beneath the papers.

On the shelves I have brightly coloured disks full of old poems, more disks for new ones, tape, cds, papers, my printer, a Chinese travel book I cannot read but bought at a second hand shop for the gorgeous pictures (It has gorgeous art, landscapes, and architecture and, besides my antique ones, is one of my prettiest books.), and my field guides.
