Are Susato fipples suppose to fall out?
I got this Susato Bb and I had a Gen G inside of it shaking it up and down, and the fipple (not the whole mouthpiece, just the fipple) fell out. On the floor. I put it back and it still plays fine...but that was very odd. I thought they were glued in or something.
Edited because I didn't spell whole right.

Nope, as you've discovered, Susato whistles have a removeable block.
This allows for easier cleaning of the whistle, and also allows an expert player to custom-voice the whistle.
This is not for the faint-hearted, though: the voicing on a Susato is already very tight and balanced. All but the most careful and small changes will result in a ruined whistle and a frustrating experience.
Best wishes,

I like Susatos, too. This one is a narrow bore, which I think is bad for Bb, but it was on ebay for $9, so I just had to get it. The person listed it as a Susato Bb whistle but didn't say what make or anything, and didn't have a picture. So I let it surprise me. Random boredom induced comments are the only kinds I can make (obviously).<random boredom induced comment>
I like susato whistles a lot

Susato fipples
Sorry can't resist this. Yes the fipples do fall out especially when played by ones dog I was furious as it was my first whistle but Poppy did me a favour as I was lent a Tony Dixon and fell in love with it.
