Very nice!
Do you agree with Phil Hardy and Tony Hinnigan regarding the musical quality.

Absolutely agree, and to that specific comment. Although I am nowhere near the level of play of Hardy nor Hinnigan. The response is immediate and I had never gotten any of my whistles to pop before these whistles arrived. I'm playing the whistles in and oiling during the break-in period slowly. And my playing experience is limited. I have always preferred wood and the feel to the touch. I can't wait until these whistles have some airtime mileage.

The craftsmanship is exquisite!

Tell us something.: I play high and low whistle with Traditional Irish Music being my focus of interest. I love Irish music and consider it as a direct connection to my Irish heritage. I enjoy participation in whistle tours, chatting with other players, and learning much from the many talented folks that frequent C & F.

Cocobolo is a curious creature.

Of all the woods I have met, cocobolo has the most complex "playing-in" behaviour.

It's all very subjective, but, in my experience it has a "wave" behaviour. Specially in the first few weeks.

In the first few days, it can have good days and bad days - it can oscillate between "breathy" and "bright".

But then over the first 6 months it stops oscillating and moves more towards "bright and clear".

After 6 months - if played regularly, it becomes something that I did not make .. the wood and the player did all that.

I have been astonished to witness that result.

It's humbling.
All the best!

Yes, this is exactly what has been happening. Sometimes I'm wondering if I'm oiling too much and becomes breathy, but then the next day or two the sound swings back to bright. The whistles do sing though... mightily! And with a Wow! factor.

I love cocobolo wood!

Thanks Jerry, and thanks Ed.

I am the only one drooling on these babies.
The breaking in period has been going very nicely and exactly as expected per Mitch's instructions. The tone of the whistles are getting brighter daily. And its Wow!

Listen to the YouTube reviews very closely, very very closely to what the experts say about these whistles. Then get in contact with Mitch at OZ whistles. Beg, bribe, do whatever it takes to get on his waitlist and then just wait it out. I love the craftsmanship and wood whistles so just have to wait for a new build. I am really humbled and honored to have these Oz whistles.
