Haircolor is my enemy.

Post by krystlepye »

I went into the salon for brown to cover my greys and my faded out blonde ombre from the summer, and came out with copper and faded pistachio green. This color math does not compute.  :swear:

Getting it fixed in the morning...

Last time I went in for light brown and came out with canary yellow.

I think I should quit trying.

No, you should keep it! Reddish with greenish tints sounds rather Irish. :D

Tell us something.: I like whistles, flutes, lyres, cittern/mandolin/bouzouki family instruments, as well as heavy and nasty slap bass. Languages, linguistics, history (especially Migration Period and Bronze Age Europe), cuisine from various parts of Latin America, chili growing, bushcraft, and the works of JRR Tolkien also tickle my fancy.

Not sure about that, but if it can be kept for a few more months it will at least be seasonally appropriate.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Vexing and embarrassing. If you can, find another salon; after two such mishaps, I'd start thinking that the shop you go to is a refuge of incompetents. Run away. Or maybe test the maxim that if you want something done right, do it yourself...

I colour my wifes hair. Once a month or so.
She cuts my hair in return.
All that work can get expensive...

I could deck the halls, and my hairdo!

It's fixed now... I'm a proper brunette again as I should be.
I went back to my regular hairstylist, (to whom I have sworn to never cheat on again!) And she has agreed to never ever let me act upon an inclination toward hair experiments EVER AGAIN!!!

The bad things happen when I fail to make appointments and go off on a whim to the nearest walk in place available.

There is no grey. There is only silver or, (as I like to say,) arctic blonde.
Much simpler to go for the Emmylou Harris, or fair-haired Osphena model look.

Arctic blonde? Hmm I may have to save that for down the road... when I do give in and just let it go.

I've been going grey since having my kids in my early twenties. I feel like I'm too young to be as grey as I am at 30

I'm with Emm-- embrace the grey. With a youthful face like yours it can be very striking and wouldn't necessarily make you look older. Plus, you could use the money you save by not having your hair colored for more whistles or other musical delights.

My youngest sister got a grey streak in her hair when she was in high school. I think it may have been stress-related, but she started coloring her hair in her teens. She started getting "real" grey hairs in college, and has been coloring her hair ever since. She's still drop-dead gorgeous forty years later, and still coloring her hair. I've told her to embrace the Emmylou look that Em alluded to, but to no avail.
