I've found a cure!

For all those suffering from an acute case of WhOA:

My favorite feature (besides the loooooovely color): " Some vintage tooth marks." ;-)=

So, are the vintage toothmarks supposed to be a plus? ;)

I'm afraid my first word when I saw the picture was

As long as we're on the subject of Tonette-like, recorder-inspired, patent schoolroom instruments, check these out!

http://www.suzukimusic.com/education/pa ... order.html

How's that for a conical bore? And now available in transparent plastic, the better to see your "condensation"! The greatest thing in schoolhouse gross-out since they started putting slime in cannisters!

I think my whistle should have come with award stickers too.
I'm no longer trying a new posting paradigm

Never saw a red one before. Now I wish I hadn't. It's just too disturbing. "Tooth marks?" Sounds like maybe this time the 'rug rat' really WAS a rodent.

I think the sticker idea is great. I probably would have earned at least two by now, maybe even three.

"Vintage tooth marks"....

Might this be the mysterious zubivka, so noted by our own eponymous and chiffworthy Zubie-dubie for its being "played with the teeth" (zub)? Judging from its color, I would venture that it dates from the time of the Soviet Bloc.

Cool. If vintage tooth marks on a tonette make it worth more, than have I got the tonette for you. I've got a black one that appears to have been a pacifier :)

Ah! the dulcet screech of the Tonette! A virtual cornucopia of musical wonders. Well, not as sweet as the recorder, which is the noise of the angels, but definitely right up there with the lollipop slidewhistle!

I once knew a hairdresser named Tonette...she had such a bouffante that if she stood in front of a light source, you could see her skull thru it. :o

The condensation in a whistle pop is just too scary to think about.

Did you see the Suzuki premium, a mini-recorder on a keychain? Who's going to be the first to get one??

*shudder*
