Arthur has left us
Arthur's post on the whistle deployment thread was his very last one. I am really sad to report that he succumbed to a heart attack.
His 51 years were filled with much love toward a great many.
Music was his great joy.
I hope his sweet wife Anne won't mind my telling you this sad news.
Lets set some time aside to remember Arthur with a tune or two.
Mine will be Tapps and Amazing Grace.
Prayers are surely welcome, too.

Yes, his passing took me by great surprise. We were just working on putting some of his songs online. Here is one he wrote:

My sympathy to the family as I know some of what they are going through right now. My father died at 48. I just had a heart attack followed by bypass surgery. Warning: heart attacks are not always the big chest crushing pain you read about. 1 out of 5 is like mine, totally silent. I felt nothing more than a little tickle in my chest and some breathlessness. After having the heart attack I passed a stress cardiogram. Only the nuclear scan showed up the damage. Do not dismiss chest pain as nothing to check out. Keep playing the tunes it is great therapy. Still here and still whistling. I was real lucky.

- Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Very sad news. Arthur and his family will be in my prayers. Here is a link to the Tribute to Ed Reavy. http://www.reavy.us/the_poem.htm It seems somehow appropriate.
God Bless,

- Tell us something.: Long ago, I was told that I faked iTrad whistle work very well. I took that comment to heart. 20 years of private lessons - and many, many hours of rehearsal later - I certainly hope I have improved...

My sympathies
I did not know this man either, but my respect and regards to his family, friends, and his memory. The posts to this thread alone are proof of this mans worth and contributions to the world during his time here, and I agree... 51 is too few in years. It is obvious to see he will be missed, and I wish I could have known him. I will be sure to take a moment of silence, and dedicate a tune to him at the next hoolie.
And that is a good song!!
Take care,
John

- Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

Arthur's Passing
Didn't know him but read his posts. I kind of feel that all people on this board are friends so my heartfell sympathy goes out to his family. 51 is no age to be gone.
